Thailand has been one of those sleeper destinations for a while now. However, other than maybe Ong Bak and the rather racist Hangover series, it’s never been known as a cinematic capital outside of Asia.
Looks like that is about to change with Ryan Gosling and director Nicolas Winding Refn’s stylish new film, Only God Forgives. The two paired up 2 years earlier for the stylish film Drive, and this film sees Gosling’s character as a drug smuggler evading the police in the hallows of underground Bangkok.
The film already has a ton of buzz going into the Cannes Film Festival, and that buzz should continue when it gets a theatrical release in June. Check it.
