After bringing in one of the best performances during the BET awards show (a pretty low bar you have to admit) Kendrick returns with the video treatment for his Pharrell produced banger “Alright”. Similar to his BET performance, it’s got a pretty poignant message that seems right in step with what’s happening in the United States as far as police brutality. His “To Pimp A Butterfly” record is one of the best in recent years but its unrelentingly bleak…”Alright” is one of the few bright points and somehow finds a way to be conscious and pretty damn crunk.
