Flanked by two producers William Huston and Jonathan Snipes the MC of the group, Daveed Diggs, has probably the greatest day job in the world acting in the runaway hit play Hamilton(which he just won a Tony award for.)
Back to the music; this EP is probably some of the best work they’ve done as a whole. From the intro on Diggs is rapping his ass off and the general vibe of the album is a less oppressive sound wise then they’ve had in the past which allows them to dabble. Not to say that the band has gone soft; “Shooter” is a vicious song touching on the state of violence in the world today and “Hot Fuck No Love” dance edge is tempered with a frank discussion on well, fucking.
