Ka is a rapper for the NYC traditionalist contingent. Not to say his work sounds dated; it’s the opposite…him along with artists like Roc Marciano or recently Joey Bada$$ have updated that NYC sound into the current decade while still keeping the street edge that most modern rap has lost. His latest project, Days of Dr. Yen Lo, seems to be cut from the same cloth. A collaborative project with producer Preservation, the first single from it, Day 0, is dark and murky stuff.
