Ninja Tune’s British newbie, Jono McCleery has the kind of voice that immediately eases my mind and ears. It’s timeless without sounding dated. There’s something so beautifully delicate – yet enjoyably robust – about the way he’s able to perfectly arrange his melodies, which are always paired gently alongside his emotional lyrics. For his newest single “Garden”; a mild-tempo’d/ dance-esque track was placed on top of all of this vocal goodness. Suffice to say I am now an official super fan of Jono McCleery.
His upcoming double-sided release, Wonderful Life/Garden will drop June 27.
