When I saw that New York Macaroni Company was opening on St. Mark’s not too long ago I couldn’t wait to try it. I love spots that do only one thing because it typically mean that they do that one thing well. And I happen to love mac and cheese–but who doesn’t?
In a way it reminds me of ‘SMac but even smaller and marginally closer to my apartment. You can pretty much put anything in mac and cheese and sometimes that’s half the fun. They have an outrageous looking truffle mac and cheese but on my first time I decided to go for the mac and cheese sandwich.
I chose plain mac and cheese, but you can get any of their signature mac and cheese creations between bread. This kind of combined everything I love in one meal: mac and cheese and sandwiches.
This place is definitely worth a try, but keep in mind that it’s super small so you may have to take it to go somewhere.
