Well, this week was an interesting one for knucklehead rap. Underground rap hero and under appreciated hip-hop A&R Gucci Mane was freed from jail. His mixtapes were the farm league for budding Atlanta rap talent where artists like Future, Migos, Young Thug, and Ilovemakkonen honed their skills before making it big; hopefully he stays mentally healthy enough to enjoy what he helped build. On the other unfortunate side of things Troy Ave managed to mess up something besides his career by putting patrons at a TI show at risk and getting his bodyguard killed (along his girlfriend shot). The rap world recently turned on him when he made some unfortunate comments about suicide and rising rapper Capital Steez during a stupid beef with Joey Bada$$’s Pro-Era crew.
Luckily for us, to help combat all that negativity Joey happened to just release a new track called , “Devastated”. Which by title alone should sound depressing as fuck but it’s a celebration of the good times that eventually follow the bad and a great start to Memorial day weekend.
