There’s never a shortage of new bars opening around the city but the key is to find something a little different. At Lionsbeerstore on 2nd Ave and 6th, I found just that.
As I get older, I find that I still like to out the same amount, ok fine, maybe a tiny bit less, but what I’m looking for is a place where I can actually sit down, have a conversation with my friends, and drink good beer. I’m all for cocktail and wine bars, but there is something about sitting down to a good craft beer that makes me so happy.
Lionsbeerstore is just what I wanted. The ambiance is incredibly welcoming and well-lit, which is not always the case, particularly in the East Village. The drink list is extensive, filled with old favorites and lots of new options to try.
I came here to catch up with a few girlfriends and had such a great time chatting and trying new beers. Their food menu looked pretty legit as well, and next time I’d love to go back a little earlier and have some appetizers to go with our libations.
All in all, there’s not much about this place I would change. And I would certainly recommend coming here if you want to have a great time tasting new beers and catching up with old friends.
