The Village Voice has been throwing some of the best below the radar NYC music festivals for 15 years now. They used to throw their annual Siren Music festival back when the only time people went to Coney Island was for hotdogs and dirty beaches, and now they’ve got their 4Knots festival on it’s 5th year. On July 11th its going to be on Pier 84 on Hudson River Park rain or shine and it’s got a bunch of diverse acts both old and new. The biggies are probably Stephen Malkumus and The Jicks, Super Furry Animals, and the ALWAYS ripping Screaming Females. And it’s rounded out by up and comers like Happyness and Heaters.
