The other week I came across Lois wine bar online and made a note to check it out soon. And seeing as it’s about a block away from my apartment, that visit happened sooner rather than later.
My lovely roommates surprised me with a happy hour for my birthday last Thursday at Lois and it was literally the perfect place. Everyone commented that walking into Lois felt like they were walking into someone’s home–it was so cozy and welcoming. Lois is basically a wine bar but they do have beer as well. The bartender was incredibly knowledgeable and when she heard we were celebrating my birthday she immediately suggested we try the something that was like in between a prosecco and a white wine. Needless to say, we loved it and ended up ordering two more.
The wines at Lois are reasonably priced, and as I mentioned earlier, the bartender was incredibly helpful and knew all of the answers to our questions.
Drinking wine at 6pm tends to make one hungry so we decided to order some food to nibble on. There isn’t a very extensive menu, but we were really happy with what we ordered. We got the olives, which were amazing. They were drizzled in olive oil or something and we were all commenting on how buttery they were. We also ordered bread and butters, which was really nice Italian bread with several different infused butter. Our favorite by far though was the avocado arepa. I will definitely be back to get one of those to myself with a glass of wine.
And of course, a wine bar wouldn’t be a wine bar without cheese:
