If you were to put a piece of chocolate in front of me or chips, I will 95% of the time go for the chips. That being said, I do enjoy dessert every now and then and my new favorite thing (that’s not actually all that new) is pudding, well, rice pudding in particular.
On St. Marks between 1st and A lies Puddin, a teeny tiny store front that only makes pudding. In my dessert range pudding doesn’t typically do the trick. I never find myself really wanting pudding but when I walked into Puddin and saw rice pudding on the menu I remembered just how much I like it.
Rice pudding is incredibly indulgent so the mini size is usually enough for me. But my favorite part–what sets it apart from the kind you can get at the grocery store–is the spices on top and the tiny bits of chopped apricots hidden inside. I had to ask what the orange bits were because I couldn’t put my finger on it, but thanks to Puddin’s rice pudding I now have a new favorite dessert.
