EVENT PREVIEW: Bushwick Beverages [July 26, 2014]

4x6-01

Bushwick has always held a special place in my heart, especially with its exciting art scene, but wouldn’t you know – their food and drink scene is picking up at a crazy fast pace.

If you’re like many of my Manhattanite friends who haven’t yet made their way to the DeKalb stop area of Bushwick, Bushwick Beverages is here to introduce you to this up-and-coming area of the neighborhood.  Dubbed as an indoor and outdoor block party, featuring beer and wine selections from more than two dozen craft breweries as well as sips from local artisan wineries.

Troutman Street, which used to only be known for the gorgeous murals of the Bushwick Collective, now boasts eateries such as Lot 45, AP Cafe, Rookery, and Union PIzza, all of which will be hosting the drink tastings.

The all female mariachi band Mariachi Flor de Toloache, R&B duo Julia & Terrance, DJ Christopher Sealey, and DJ CEO will be on hand to pump you all up with tunes throughout the day. If you’ve never been to Bushwick, or haven’t been in a while, here’s your chance to experience the unique spots that have recently popped up in the neighborhood.

Bushwick Beverages takes place Saturday, July 26th from 2-7pm along Troutman Street between St. Nicholas and Wyckoff Avenues. For drink tickets [10 per ticket, additional tickets on-site in bundles of five for $5], visit the event ticket website – $20 in advance, $30 at the door.
