I’ve had long conversations over the past few days with different people in the music industry about the emergence of dance music in America, in light of Skrillex getting a Grammy nomination. Sure, David Guetta and other dance acts have made it big, but now I believe there are acts with more nuance who can cross over, like Katy B for starters.
But the cool thing about Electronic music is the rate that it can cross over into the “street.” Even though “Hey Hey Hey,” is a European production (with a DJ from Belgum, a UK MC and an American…er I don’t know what she’s doing here) I think tracks like this one can be the archetype for the crossover. Honestly something like this could easily rock forward thinking parties like Rock Creek Social Club. Check it.
