Most people know that I think that Dr. Dre’s Detox is a mystery. I’m still taking the “believe it when I see it” approach to the whole album, which has been rumored for almost a decade now. However, my eyes perked up when I stumbled upon this video of Dre and Jimmy Iovine shilling some Red Sox branded headphones on a regional sports channel.
Head-scratching questions aside (why is Dre in Boston instead of LA? Boston Red Sox Headphones??), the most important thing from the video below is the fact that the long-awaited album Detox is coming, and the lead single, as rumored, will feature Jay-Z. Of course they don’t PLAY the single in this clip, but the fact that Dre and Jimi are doing promotion for it means that it’s coming down the pipe real soon.
